History
History
This small temple was said to be created and guarded by a Chinese man living in Temiang estate. A few years later, Mr. Bala, the founder of the temple, took over the task of caring for the temple from the Chinese man. In the beginning, only the deities of Lord Murugan, Vinayagar and Muniyandi were found in the temple. Then when the estate became a developed town, Mr. Chandran had rebuilt the temple in 2012 and he became the first chairman of the temple. In 2017, the first kumbhabishegam was done and the temple became more famous among the locals.
Significance
The uniqueness of the temple is that Cithra Pournami Thiruvizha will be held for 10 days with great fanfare. Activities such as kaathu kuthu , kaavadi , kodi yetram, azhagu kuthu, manjal niratam, ponunjal will be held with with great fanfare during the thiruvizha. This celebration is normally greatly welcomed by the residents here. The temple does also carry out activities during pongal, deepavali and chitarai puthandu. The temple is also used for other community activities carried out by the Hindus living here.
