History
History
Originally, this temple was based in a rubber plantation located at Batu 15, Jalan Johor Bharu to Kota Tinggi. This rubber plantation was rapidly developed by Syarikat Diamond Development Sdn Bhd. In 1985, the company gave the site for the construction of the temple. After 2 years of the temple being built, the Indian Welfare and Cultural Association was established to provide religious, cultural and social services to the Indians living here. In 1992, the Hindus in Johor Jaya had gathered and planned to rebuild the temple, but they faced financial constraints. A few years later, the residents and the Indian Welfare and Cultural Association successfully went on a donation drive and collected enough funds to rebuild this temple.
Significance
This temple is unique in that it is dedicated to the Lord Ganesha only. All the prayers performed in this temple are very special. Each year the temple will perform the Vinayagar Viratham ceremony which starts on 20 November till 10 December, which is for 21 days. The temple will hold a special homam and abishegam every day during this period.
