History
History
About 100 years ago (1922), this temple was built by the local community due to their belief in the god Murugan. In 1922 people in this area found a 'vel' near the tree and decided to build a temple near the tree. The founders of the temple are Mr. Krishamurthy Ramadass and Mr. Vadivelu. They are the two who tried to register the land in the name of the temple. The temple has six statues of Gods and Goddesses. One of the special features of the temple is that every pillar in the temple has a statue of the goddess Sita that attracts the attention of the crowd. Local residents cooperate and work together to clean the surrounding area during the festival every year.
Significance
Festivals like Thaipusam, Maasi Magam and Shasti is celebrated grandly in this temple. Maasi magam is the main festival. Ratham oorvalam will happen during this festival. In this temple, the community can determine their jothidam
