History
History
"Originally the people of the Tanjong Malim area prayed to God Murugan who was located in a small hut. In 1891 the Thaipoosam festival began to be held at the temple. After some time Thaipoosam festival was stopped and the temple began to celebrate the Vikasi Visagam festival as an annual festival until now. From 1972 there is a new administration confirmed by ROS. The importance of the Temple to the surrounding community is that it helps the surrounding residents in various ways. For example, the deity near the Sri Thandayuthapani Temple helps the residents in terms of finances, health and more. This temple is located at the intersection of Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh Road near Tanjong Malim Health Center and Sultan Idris University of Education. Devotees and students who come far from the North and South always stop at this temple for rest and prayer. The special features and structure of this temple building are so interesting that they attract the attention of many people. Often the community and students of UPSI and Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic organize joint efforts to clean the temple area."
Significance
This temple is located on the main road leading to Tanjong Malim town where the main kopuram can be seen from afar and attracts the attention of tourist groups."
