History

History

The temple was erected by PWD (Public Works Department) staff on a plot of land along Jalan Abdul Aziz around the year 1960. Several renovations were carried out at the temple in 1970. It is understood that PWD (Public Works Department) had instructed the temple committee to remove the temple from its current place (Jalan Abdul Aziz). Thus, a study to find a new location was carried out and finally the location at Jalan Lombong was considered suitable for the construction of a new temple. The new temple was established in 2005. After 13 years, the temple experienced the hassle of receiving ownership of its land. On 11th December 2010, Menteri Besar of Johor YAB Dato Abdul Ghani Bin Othman attended the temple and promised to allocate 2 acres of land and RM500,000.00 for the construction of a new temple. On 10th March 2013, the Head of umno Southeast Division, YB Dato Halimah Binti Mohammad Sadiq, handed over the land title (Form 5A) to the temple committee.

Significance

The statue of Sivalingam in this temple is made of a very sacred stone brought from India. The next uniqueness of this temple is the environment with very beautiful landscapes & nature that attracts the attention of many people. The temple was built on the concept of the Thiruvanamalai temple and according to 100% ‘Vastu’. The temple is painted light gray and this color symbolizes the color of ‘Thirunir’.
