History

History

"Arulmigu Dewa Muniswarar Temple is located in Gopeng town, Perak Darul Ridzuan. This temple has been in existence since 1882 which was built by the Indian people living around the Gopeng area. In the beginning, it was a small hut with only one Tirusulam. In addition, behind this temple there is a large water pool that has two white crocodiles that have been seen by various races consisting of Indians, Malays, Chinese and Aborigines in 1922. Therefore, due to the crocodiles in the pond, this temple is nicknamed as Kolam Buaya Arulmigu Dewa Muniswarar. The temple had built a small temple in 1995, when a tree fell and damaged the old temple in 1914. In 2019, a half-closed iron and zinc structure building has been built. This temple is the only oldest temple around the Gopeng area which has already reached the age of 140 years. In fact, the temple i This is also a place of worship for all walks of life, namely Indians, Chinese and Sikhs around the Gopeng area."
