History
History
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in the town of Kampar. It was founded in 1963 by Indian mine workers who lived in the Tronoh Mines area. They started the temple with a small hut. Then in 1998, a perfect stone building was built. This temple became a place of worship for the Indian community in the Tronoh Mines area. The new building was built in a limited area and was completed in 2002 by Mr. K. Vesulingam. The temple building and facilities were not renovated for the second Kumbabishekam due to lack of funds. This temple continues to be the center of worship and cultural development of the Indian community in the Tronoh mines area. This temple is the only temple in the Kampar area that shares a fence with the police station
Significance
The festival is celebrated on a grand scale at the temple of Sri Maha Mariamman Tronoh Mines, the Maasi Maagam month. During the radham procession during Maasi Magam tiruvila, the statue of Amman ( aimpon silai) will be paraded
